About the Recipe

Ginseng tea is a traditional herbal beverage celebrated for its natural energizing and health-boosting properties. Made from the root of the ginseng plant, this tea has been used for centuries in Eastern medicine to enhance vitality, improve focus, and support overall wellness. With its warm, slightly bitter flavor, ginseng tea can be enjoyed on its own or lightly sweetened with honey or lemon, making it a soothing and revitalizing drink for any time of day.

Ingredients

  • 1–2 slices of dried ginseng root (or 1 teaspoon ginseng powder)

  • 2 cups of water

  • Honey or lemon (optional, for taste)

Preparation

Step 1

Prepare the ginseng – If using dried root, rinse it gently. If it’s powder, just measure it out.

Step 2

Boil water – In a small pot, bring 2 cups of water to a gentle boil.

Step 3

Simmer – Add the ginseng root slices (or powder). Reduce heat and simmer for 10–15 minutes.

Step 4

Strain – If using root slices, strain them out before serving.

Step 5

Serve – Pour into a cup. Add honey or lemon if you’d like a sweeter or fresher taste.

Additional Tips:

  • You can re-steep the same ginseng root slices 2–3 times.

  • For a stronger tea, simmer up to 30 minutes.

  • Ginseng is energizing, so it’s usually better enjoyed earlier in the day.
