Ingredients

  • 1 silver ear mushroom

  • 6–8 cups water

  • 8–10 red dates (optional but traditional)

  • Rock sugar (or honey)

  • Goji berries (optional but traditional)

  • Asian pear slices

Preparation

Step 1

Soak the silver ear in warm water for 20–30 minutes until soft.



Step 2

Rinse any other ingredients (like red dates or goji berries).



Step 3

Add everything to a pot with water.



Step 4

Bring to a boil, then reduce to a gentle simmer.



Step 5

Simmer 1.5–2 hours, until the soup becomes soft and slightly thick.



Step 6

Add rock sugar (or honey) and stir until dissolved.



Step 7

Serve hot in bowls and enjoy!
